I’m home
Empty bars, a new facade, a darker tone
I’ll sit this one out
Go ahead and pick your fights
I’ll be around
I’ve grown
Nothing like the black and white of what you’ve known
Not my place to show
Picking hands and tired plans
Another town
Hey! Are you making promises and never living up?
Hey! Are you ever honest when you never give enough?
Hey! Are you making promises and never living up?
Are you still? (x2)
It falls
Another chance into your lap, another day
There’s no back way out
So shine your crown and think about what others say
These feels
The symptom of the smallest pond
A cloud of scales
I know you’re so scared
So take a sip, remember what your parents said
What your parents did
Hey! Are you making promises and never living up?
Hey! Are you ever honest when you never give enough?
Hey! Are you making promises and never living up?
Are you still? (x2)
None of your days spent
Could tell what your face meant
All of the days spent
Could tell where the space went
Hey! Are you making promises and never living up?
Hey! Are you ever honest when you never give enough?
Hey! Are you making promises and never living up?
Are you still? (x2)
Been following Somos for many years, feeling that they had an opus in them...well, here it is. Driving pop-punk sensibilities lend an upbeat tone in contrast to the grim lyrical proceedings, and they absolutely pull it off. Evocative music that's been on repeat for me all month long. RIP, Phil PaintedDogs
